Diversifying almond groves

The almond tree is a traditionally rainfed crop. In recent years. In recent years is assuming a revolution in the Spanish field and the Region of Murcia is one of the most hectares has dedicated to the cultivation of almonds.

Traditional rainfed monoculture system has implied some problems like high soil erosion rates, low content of organic matter and the endangerment of biodiversity.

To address this problem, Diverfarming studies some diversification options to end up these problems, increasing soil fertility and ensuring the yield.
