Next May 11 the Diverfarming team from Italy hold the engagement seminar "DIVERFARMING Scientific shop: showcase results"

The DIVERFARMING project - The European research project DIVERFARMING "Crop diversification and agriculture with reduced use of chemical inputs in Europe: from the involvement of operators to ecosystem services for increasing profitability and optimizing the food chain", funded by the European Commission by H2020), is going to end. The experience, based on participation of 8 European partners, including Italy, intended to provide answers to the climatic and environmental emergencies of recent years, promoting the building of diversified cropping systems capable of reducing the environmental impact of agricultural activity, while ensuring adequate crop yields and increase the net income for farmers even in adverse weather conditions, re-organizing the whole production chain at the best. Within the DIVERFARMING project, Italy, as representative of the climatic area of the North Mediterranean, in particular the CREA (Council for Research in Agriculture and Economics) in collaboration with the University of Tuscia, involved companies of high national importance (Casalasco, Barilla), which introduced alternative crop diversification strategies in their farms, evaluating the environmental, productive and commercial advantages together with the researchers.

Who the event is aimed at - Farmers, farms, communities of practices, representatives of the Regions, Mipaaf, professional associations and other stakeholders will be welcome, being able to become primary actors of the event through their active participation in the discussion of the results.

How the event will take place - During the meeting (which will take place online), the different topics will be represented in a sort of "scientific walk", where each topic will be presented with short interventions ("pills") by the researchers of duration not exceeding 5 minutes each.

On the basis of personal experiences, at the end of each presentation, those present will be asked to give a number from 1 to 3 to each "pill", depending on how much the information acquired was considered useful in promoting the choice of crop diversification: 1 = negative; 2 = indifferent; 3 = positive.

At the end of the evaluation, a debate will open among the participants which will have the aim of identifying which dissemination paths (in particular, with reference to the methods of processing the results obtained so far) should be consolidated and which further developed in order to better promote adherence to the practice of crop diversification (see online questionnaires: http://www.diverfarming.eu/index.php/it/partecipa)
