The European project makes itself known through informative meetings in bars in both cities.

The European Researchers’ Night, an event organised by the European Commission in more than 300 European cities, with the aim of bringing science closer to the citizens, was the venue chosen by Diverfarming to present itself to the cities of Cordoba and Cartagena.

One of the main objectives of this project, based in crop diversification and the creation of sustainable alternatives for European agriculture, is the divulgation and diffusion of the work carried out in this field. Therein lies the reason for its presentation within a divulgation event that takes science to settings where it is not usually found.

The project, financed by the European Commission through its Horizon 2020 programme, will set out the importance of biodiversity and sustainability in the agricultural sector

The sixth edition of the European Researchers’ Night, which will be held on 29 September in Cordoba, is the venue chosen for the public presentation of the Diverfarming European project.

Diverfarming arises from the need to face up to the negative effects that predominant farming practices are having on the land. Intensive agriculture, the implantation of monocropping, the excessive mechanisation and the high cost in resources to produce foods are some of the issues to be overcome with this work.

The Unit for Scientific Culture and Innovation will coordinate the actions of diffusing results among European farmers

Bring about a change in the mentality among European farmers. That is the priority objective of the communication and diffusion strategy designed by the Unit for Scientific Culture and Innovation (UCC+i) of the University of Cordoba for the Diverfarming project, financed by the European Commission through its Horizon 2020 programme. To do so, the UCO has designed a calendar of actions that will lead the UCC+i and the project’s communication team to work in favour of the creation of farmers’ communities that put the researchers’ proposals regarding new agronomic and agro-industrial management systems into practice, to favour an increase in the number of crops, increasing biodiversity, and reducing the inputs required.
